Silk Paintings & Wearable Art
"Swallowtails & Coneflowers"
"My current silk paintings are inspired by patterns in nature. I have an irresistible attraction to colors, spots and stripes on flowers, bugs and plants and I'm fascinated by their life cycles and their role in the environment."
Each piece is an original painting created to be worn as a wearable art garment or for decoration in the home as a pillow, wall hanging or framed painting.
The paintings above were created with fiber-reactive dyes on 100% silk or silk/linen. These pieces, just as the rest of my work, were painted free-hand without the use of resist or wax.
